Hidden treasure

I finally got round to using a cut I've wanted to do for some time. It is made up of two layers to give it some depth, as well as inking the edges. I just hope it survives the in the post. Along with shaped cards I like making pictures the most.

Life is a beach diver cut at 5.25 inches, chest at 2 inches and coral 1.5 inches. Sand is cut using tonic shapemate ruler.

Buzz delivery

At last I have got round to putting Buzz Lightyear together. I was really sceptical about making Buzz as so many posts on message boards said he was difficult to do but I so wanted to make him. He took me 5 hours to make but I was pleased with the result! I am a slow worker. I had intended making him as a shaped card but couldn't get this to work as I cut him so big and the strength wasn't in the card so I cut him out again in black and stuck that to a base card then mounted him onto that with foam so he wasn't flat. He can be removed from the card and used as a wall decoration. He is delivering a card to Ben for his 3rd birthday.

Toy story Buzz cut at 11.5 inches and mounted on an A3 folded card, (the shadow feature on the 12 x 12 mat would not fit at this size) Plantin schoolbook letters cut at 1.5 inches with and without shadow.

Cake and more cake

When I discovered blogging I thought I would save the money I spent on craft magazines, but I am still addicted to them. I can't resist the the covers with their hidden treasures inside waiting for me. There is no point in making a new years resolution to stop, better to make one that I will use some of the free gifts or ideas. So here are two cards one made using free stamps from docrafts Creativity issue 25. I have also wanted to make cards using the raw cardboard effect (don't know what you would call it) but could never source and stock, then when I wasn't looking for it,  I found a large pack of Papermania 5 x 7 card blanks. I hope you enjoy my cakes.

1st  cake is cut using Doodlecharms 4.25 inches, divine swirls embossing folder, free stamps for background.
2nd cake cut using Celebrations cut at 3 inches, universal embossing folder cupcakes craft concepts for background.

It's your day

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wish you all a Great Year ahead. I feel I have a lot of catching up to do, it was good to blog hop today and catch up with all your lovely work. With so many birthdays to plan for I need to get going again. Here are a couple of pictures of two cards I had made for my son and brother in law. I need to plan their cards for this year and thankfully have more cricut carts to choose from, although I didn't get any crafting goodies this Christmas! I am looking forward to the new carts due out next.

The first card I used an A4 sheet of acetate folded in half, the second one I folded an A4 sheet of card in halve cut the front and attached the acetate with eyelets.
Celebrations It's your day, I haven't kept a note on the size I cut. That's the great thing about having a blog as I have got better at making notes on cut sizes and cartridges used.
