Another sweet pea

Well getting back into my blog has not been easy I have spent hours trying to sort out template problems and not really sorted it. Blogger will not allow me to apply my own backgrounds like I did before so stuck on this layout until I have time to sort it. Anyway enough of my grumbles I do have several projects to share starting with the simple ones. Here's the card I made for the proud parents of baby Chloe. She is so tiny she certainly is a sweet pea.

The base card is 8inch square hearts and peas are made with small punches.New arrival words sweet pea cut at 1.25 inch, pea pod cut at 3.75 inch Plantin schoolbook Chloe 1.5inch

First Shaped album

I made this album for our 3 year old granddaughter Olivia. She has just had an operation and in is now in a hip spiker plaster. I wanted her to have pictures of the family to look at while she was in hospital. She is now home and taking the restraints of being all plastered up very well. She is pictured throughout the book and true to form the first thing she ate after her operation was toast. This is my first attempt at a shaped picture book. I chose Mickey as she had just spent a voucher before going into hospital buying Mickey to go with her Mini mouse.
There are three dogs in the family, that page was fun to do. I cut a westie in chipboard to make a book mark and also a doll. Once I had finished the book  I felt at a loss "what can I do now" I said to hubby,  his reply "housework" Oh horror I won't ask that one again LOL. I will now have to have fun making books for our other grandchildren

I used Design studio and Gypsy. The book is cut at 5.75 inches.
Cartridges used are
Plantin schoolbook, Accent essentials, Animal kingdom, Going places, New arrival, Everyday paper dolls, Create a critter, and of course Mickey and friends.

Lazy Hazy Days of Summer

This is the card I have made to enter the Sir Stampalot challenge Lazy Hazy Days of Summer. It was not a quick make, I started it weeks ago then events took over and I only just made the dealine. I wasn't quick enough to be able to take the photo in day light. I must  make myself more organised next time. I doubt I would attempt cutting letters that small too often! I loved the title of the challenge as it allowed me to create a picture using my Cricut. All the peices are made up of several layers. I just hope I can make the link. I was pleased to be able to use the Life is a beach cart.

From Great Grandad

I think this is my favourite of the baby cards because of the colours and beads, not bad for someone who doesn't like sewing on buttons and would rather buy a new shirt! I made it for my Dad to give. The card base is 12 x 12 folded and covered with srapbook paper. I chose the dog cut because they have a westie.

New arrival It's a boy 2.inch with and without shadow, boat 3.75inch blackout and 2 more cuts layered

Celebrations at last

It is a great time for us celebrating the safe arrival of our grandson Thomas James 9lb 6oz, not bad for a baby that was predicted to be premature from week 18 of pregnancy! I have never seen such a big new born, it's been a very difficult time so a great result. Well done Mum and all the hospital Doctors that made it possible.

New arrival bottle 4.7inch 1 layer is acetate, booties 2.5inch, train 3inch, rattle 3.75inch.
little one 1.5inch with and without shadow. pins 1.5inch
Plantin schoolbook precious 1.25inch with and without shadow
Base card is A4, shaped buttons, adhesive pearls and feathered cord.

A box full of goodies, I could not resist the monkey, and of course with the world cup on its way every boy needs his kit.

Sweet pea

My first use of the gypsy, not because I used it to do anything fancy but I recorded what was in my mind's eye while I was away from home, then cut in the usual way. I planned it for a 6 x 6 card but when I found the papers in my stash that I wanted to use I put it onto an 8 x 8 card as I wanted the papers to be a prominent feature as well as the cut. I hope our friends like it.
Congratulations Angie and Richie on the arrival of your new baby Peter.
